Are you a manufacturer of lithium batteries and want to offer safe products?
Kiwa Primara GmbH operates an accredited testing laboratory in Kaufbeuren that conducts comprehensive testing of lithium-ion batteries according to these international standards. In this way, Kiwa supports manufacturers and distributors in meeting legal requirements and ensuring product safety. Thanks to our specialization in small to medium-sized batteries, we offer short lead times and efficient processes.
Safety Testing for Lithium Batteries – fast, reliable, and standards-compliant!
Safety testing is essential for use in electric vehicles, consumer electronics, medical devices, and many other applications. Certified batteries provide safety and reliability for end users and regulatory authorities. Lack of certification can have serious consequences such as product recalls and legal liabilities.
Mechanical Tests: Batteries are subjected to crushing, penetration, impact, and resistance tests against mechanical stress.
Electrical Tests: Overload, short-circuit, and other misuse simulations under extreme conditions.
Thermal Tests: Examination of thermal stability, fire behavior, and overheating.
CB Testing and Certification According to IEC 62133-2 – Lithium-Ion Batteries
Many product standards require that lithium-ion batteries in use are tested and certified according to IEC 62133-2 – a key requirement for market approval. In our modern, accredited laboratory, we perform all required tests according to IEC 62133-2. In addition, we can issue internationally recognized certificates under the IECEE CB Scheme. This ensures you not only receive reliable test results, but also the necessary documentation for worldwide market access.
CB Testing and Certification According to IEC 62133-1 – Nickel-Based Secondary Cells
We also provide testing according to IEC 62133-1 – the standard for portable, sealed nickel-based secondary cells and batteries assembled from them. These are primarily used in portable devices.
