You want to place your products on the Korean organic market? Kiwa BCS is your reliable partner for your KOC certification. The EU already concluded an equivalence agreement with Korea in 2014, which makes it possible to trade processed organic products between the two countries without further certification for companies based in the EU.
Details can be found here: https://www.enviagro.go.kr/portal/content/en/html/sub/eu_en.jsp
For companies outside the EU, a separate KOC certification is required in order to export organic products to Korea. Read all about Korean organic certification with Kiwa BCS here.
What you need to know:
The Korean organic market has been booming for almost 10 years. With higher incomes, the Korean population is placing more emphasis on organically grown food. With a KOC certification, a product can be labelled and sold as "organic" in Korea. In addition, the Korean organic logo can be attached to the product.
Farmers, producers and traders of organic products worldwide who want to export organic products to Korea must have a certificate according to the Korean Organic Certification System "KOC".
You can find more information about KOC at: https://naqs.go.kr/eng/contents/contents.do?menuId=MN20568.
A KOC certification with Kiwa BCS Öko-Garantie GmbH:
Kiwa BCS is an internationally well established inspection body. We carry out KOC certifications and inspections according to KOC in all areas of organic production for farmers, processors, (re-) packers and traders.
Procedure of a KOC certification:
First, you obtain a non-binding offer from us. After a positive response and conclusion of the contract, we carry out the initial inspection on your farm. At the end of each organic inspection, a control report is drawn up containing all the test points and their results. In order to guarantee high quality and independence in the certification process, we always work according to the four-eyes principle. This means that the inspection and the certification cannot be carried out by the same personnel. After the inspection, a second expert in our office makes the certification decision on the basis of the inspection report. If your company fulfils all legal requirements, our certifiers will issue your KOC certificate. From this day on, you are allowed to export the corresponding products to Korea as organic products.
- Meet customer needs – in Korea, the demand for organic products is steadily increasing. With your organic certified products, you contribute to the supply.
- Global trade – Korea is one of the emerging economies in Asia. Participate in the international market with a KOC certification.
- Kiwa BCS is your competent and personal partner for your certification project and for all questions during the process.
