The two-day ATEX Basic course module 001 has been developed for operational employees who work with or carry out maintenance on ATEX installations and machines. The first day of the course students learn everything about the basic principles of explosion safety, ignition sources, safety measures and procedures, etc.
The second course day is the internationally recognized exam IECEx 05 module 001. This happens - at the same location - by an independent exam office. Students who successfully complete the exam will receive an attestation (or certificate) valid for three years. Prior to the course, students must have followed the e-learning ATEX Awareness. This is included in the course costs.
In the course ATEX Basic course module 001 the following topics are discussed:
- Basic principles of explosion safety;
- Classification of explosive zones;
- Gas and dust explosions;
- Ignition sources;
- Explosion-proof equipment and requirements;
- Signaling and marking;
- Explosion safety measures;
- Safety procedures;
- Work permit for an explosive atmosphere.

- Two-day classroom course, on location at Kiwa in Nieuwegein or Apeldoorn (also in-company is possible, ask for the possibilities);
