European Commission implements no-deal Contingency Action Plan
On Wednesday, December 19, 2018, the European Commission has announced fourteen emergency measures in the event of a no-deal scenario for Brexit. These precautionary measures are necessary to minimise the impact to a number of vital sectors, including aviation, customs and the financial world. If no agreement is reached (and a "hard Brexit" occurs), current appointments between the EU and the UK will be broken.
As there is no certainty that there will be a ratified withdrawal agreement, or what it will entail, the EU is continuously preparing to ensure that the EU institutions, Member States and private parties are prepared for Brexit.
