Proven Impact

We consider the third party certification of passive fire safety products to be of paramount importance. Working with Kiwa affords us and our customers total confidence in the performance of our products and the accuracy of the claims we make about them.

IFC Certification, when FIRAS closed their Commercial and Residential third party accreditation scheme suddenly, stepped up to help those companies affected. They made the transfer seamless and made sure it was concurrent with the previous scheme. At the same time allowing existing projects to be transferred/covered by them, giving confidence to our clients. IFC’s help in managing this transfer has been invaluable and is appreciated by Triangle Fire Systems.

IFC Certification provides an invaluable tool to ADS to have an external auditor assess and report on all of our processes. We strive to provide an outstanding service to our clients, and to have an IFC audit confirms that what we are doing is correct, and most importantly compliant.

Darren Wale has audited our office, our general work practices and he has also visited numerous ADS installations. He is professional, friendly, extremely experienced in our field, and provides great feedback in terms of recommendations and detailed reports.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you certify both active and passive fire protection systems?

Yes, our schemes cover both types, including sprinklers, smoke control, fire doors, and compartmentation.

Do you offer support during the certification process?

Absolutely. Our team guides you step-by-step and provides ongoing support.

What Is Third-Party Certification?

Third-party certification means an independent body (like IFCC) verifies that specific requirements have been met. This impartial assurance is valued by clients, regulators, and insurers.

What Is Accreditation and Why Does It Matter?

Accreditation is formal recognition that a certification body is competent to carry out assessments. IFCC is accredited by UKAS, which ensures our certification practices meet national and international standards.

What evidence is there that IFCC is accredited by UKAS?

IFCC credentials are listed on the UKAS website as an accredited certification body. You can view our certificates and schedules of accreditation there.

How Can I Find Certified Installers or Products?

Use our live search directory to find certified installers and products, along with all relevant details.

Is Certification a One-Off Process or Are There Ongoing Audits?

Certification is not a one-time event. After initial approval, IFCC conducts routine surveillance audits — typically annually — to ensure continued compliance with the relevant scheme requirements. Depending on the scheme, this may include site inspections, factory production control audits, or quality management system reviews. Certification is usually valid for five years, with a re-certification audit required to renew it.
