Gert-Jan Rap is a Dutch automotive engineer with over 35 years of experience in the engineering, commercialization, and approval of gaseous fuel systems for vehicles and industrial application, including LPG, CNG, LNG, Biogas, and Hydrogen.

Mr. Rap is widely recognised as a Safety Expert in gaseous fuels, with deep technical knowledge and a practical, hands-on approach to training.

He studied Automotive Engineering at HTS Autotechniek in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, and has completed numerous advanced courses in gaseous fuel technologies.

Throughout his career, Mr. Rap has worked across both OEM and retrofit sectors, contributing to passenger cars, trucks, buses, off-road vehicles, and industrial systems. His expertise spans:

Component and system design
Vehicle assembly and integration
Safety protocols and risk assessment
Infrastructure development (e.g., virtual pipelines, mobile refuelling)

Since 2006, he has served as CEO of RAP Clean Vehicle Technology, a consultancy and training firm based in the Netherlands. Under his leadership, RAP has delivered training and technical support to vehicle manufacturers, conversion centres, maintenance workshops, and national authorities worldwide.
