K3Delta first aggregates producer to receive CSC certification
CSC stands for Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC), which offers an internationally recognised certification system for sustainable concrete. Kiwa issued a CSC supplier certificate to aggregate producer K3Delta for all five of her sand and gravel locations. With this certification, K3Delta proves that the company responsibly and sustainably produces sand and gravel for use in concrete. More and more concrete producers acquire CSC certificates these days, but until now there was no aggregates producer with such a certificate.
Dammy Evertse, Director of Aggregates with K3Delta, received the certification from the hands of Arjan van der Drift (Kiwa), Stefan van Uffelen (CSC), Marie van der Poel and Remco Kerkhoven (both VOBN) on November 9. VOBN (Vereniging van Ondernemingen van Betonmortelfabrikanten in Nederland) is the Regional Scheme Operator (RSO) and representative for CSC in the Netherlands. Kiwa is the certification body. Both are founding partners of CSC. Increasing value for concrete producers
CSC assesses the impact of the production process of companies on its environmental, social and economical aspects. Concrete plants can only ever achieve a silver CSC certificate. To reach gold or platinum level they need their suppliers of cement, sand and gravel. The CSC supplier certificate will help K3Delta play a part in this process.
Says K3Delta Director Dammy Evertsen, It’s great to be the first producer of aggregates to receive a CSC supplier certificate. Sustainably and responsibly sourcing our materials for us is just logical. Both aspects are a vital part of CSC certification. It shows the world what we already knew about ourselves, but now there’s also written proof of it.
