What types of cookies do we use?

Kiwa uses different types of cookies with different objectives on its websites:

  1. Necessary cookies: these session cookies or functional cookies are necessary for the website to work properly. Also the Google Analytics basic cookie gives us a basic understanding of what happens on the website. Session cookies are checked by default. The Episerver website cookie will be automatically removed as soon as you close your web browser. We store the necessary cookies for 30 days.
  2. Analytical cookies: we use Google Analytics, Google Optimize and Hotjar cookies. These cookies help us understand how you use the website. For this purpose we collect data that we analyze. We use this data to further improve our websites. We store the analytical cookies for one year.
  3. Marketing cookies: through these cookies we can tailor advertisements and information to your interests. For this purpose we use an Act-On cookie and others. Marketing cookies are also used for interaction with social media. We store the marketing cookies for one year.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to monitor how visitors use our websites, including details of the website where they come from and the total number of times they visit our websites. We also use Google Analytics for demographic and interest reports such as gender and age.

Google may provide information to third parties if Google is under a legal obligation to do so, or insofar as third parties process the information on behalf of Google. We have no influence on this. We have not granted Google permission to use the analytics data obtained for other Google services. Google Optimize

Google Optimize is used to test and optimize the user interface and the quality of the content on our websites.

 

Hotjar

Hotjar is a conversion optimization tool which we use to gain insight into the behavior of our website visitors. The data is stored and secured in the Hotjar servers in Ireland and is not shared with third parties.

 

Act-On und Mailchimp

We use Act-On marketing automation software and Mailchimp for sending emailings, including our newsletters. The Act-On cookie helps us to measure whether the readers of the mailings click-through to our websites. These cookies also help us to display personalized content.
