Kiwa eLicense: digital certification for the maritime sector

Issuing and managing physical certificates in the maritime sector is a relatively vulnerable and time-consuming process. Kiwa offers a digital solution with Kiwa eLicense, allowing licenses and certificates to be securely managed and verified on the holder’s smartphone. A project with maritime software provider UTS and a pilot with the Dutch inspectorate for the environment and transport (ILT) demonstrate the many benefits of digital certification.

Kiwa FSS Products nominated for Intersec Award 2026

Kiwa FSS Products has been nominated for an Intersec Award in the category Impact Makers. The nomination coincides with Kiwa’s participation in Intersec 2026, one of the world’s leading trade fairs for (fire) safety, security and public safety. From 12 to 14 January 2026, Kiwa FSS Products will present itself at the Dubai World Trade Centre, where the international safety sector comes together to share the latest technologies and innovations.

Kiwa second European conformity assessment body with DWD accreditation

Kiwa has been accredited by the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA) to carry out assessments in accordance with the new European Drinking Water Directive (EU) 2020/2184. Kiwa is the second European conformity assessment body to take this important first step towards formal notification through accreditation by a national authority. This accreditation already enables Kiwa to assess materials and products that come into contact with drinking water according to the new European hygiene requirements.

From awareness to capability: why cybersecurity starts with people

Cyberattacks are becoming more advanced, but the most vulnerable link often stays the same: people. That is why Kiwa provides training that makes organizations aware of digital and physical risks and shows employees the role they themselves play in cybersecurity. According to Kiwa’s Fabian Dijkman, the key to cybersecurity lies not only in technology but also in behavior and culture. ‘Cybersecurity does not start with technology but with people’s safety awareness.’
