New implementation date for mandatory SERMI certification: April 1, 2024
Important news for independent auto, damage repair and motorhome companies: SERMI certification, mandatory for theft prevention-related software and vehicle parts, takes effect in the Netherlands on April 1, 2024. You will are able to easily and quickly start your certification online with Kiwa.
Expected implementation dates for other countries have also been set. The actual implementation date will be confirmed by SERMI (Security Related Vehicle Repair and Maintenance Information) two months before the planned implementation date.
Implementation date February 1, 2024:
- Norway (new);
- Denmark (previously announced);
- Finland (previously announced).
Implementation date April 1, 2024:
- Netherlands;
- Belgium;
- Germany;
- Luxembourg;
- Austria;
- Portugal;
- Spain.
Implementation date to be confirmed:
- France;
- Italy
- Poland.
In Sweden, SERMI certification has already been in effect since Oct. 1, 2023.
