Version 8 of the Interpretation document for Alarm receiving centres published
Version 8 of the 'Guidance & Interpretation Document Monitoring and Alarm Receiving Centres & Alarm Transmission Service Providers' has been published. This guidance and interpretation document applies to the international standards for inspection and certification of EN 50518 monitoring and alarm receiving centres (MARC) and K21030 alarm transmission systems (ATSP).
The publication of version 8 follows quite soon after the 7th version of the document. Technology is developing at a rapid pace and often far ahead of adjustments in laws and regulations. The rapidly changing market prompted the renewed setup of Kiwa's 'Guidance & Interpretation Document Monitoring and Alarm Receiving Centres & Alarm Transmission Service Providers'. The Security Expert Committee, in which all relevant parties in the field of security are represented, has accepted version 8 of the interpretation document.
Purpose of this guidance document
The purpose of this document is to clarify the context by establishing new definitions on certain themes and topics. This makes it clear for individuals and market parties what the conditions are for determining compliance with the applicable requirements. Additionally, the guidance document provides insight into current market developments and how this aligns with laws and regulations.
Changes
In version 8, the following changes have been made:
- The document name has been changed to 'Guidance & Interpretation Document Monitoring and Alarm Receiving Centres & Alarm Transmission Service Providers'.
- New Kiwa-house style.
- Expansion of chapter 7 with mapping ISO 27001:2022.
- Addition of BRLs to article 1.2.
- Addition of guidelines/handouts to achieve a correct assessment of response times in article 4.3.
- Guidance regarding guidelines for risk management based on ISO 31000 in article 7.7.
