For whom?

Relevant to applicators and tank manufacturers.

When is it required?

The application of paint or coating systems in accordance with the BRL-K790 process certificate provides users with confidence that the paint or coating system has been applied within a quality assurance system that is regularly audited by Kiwa.

After completion of the work, a “Inspection report coating application” is provided. This inspection report gives your customer confidence that the paint or coating system has been applied in accordance with the requirements of BRL-K790. The “Inspection report coating application” in accordance with BRL-K790, in combination with a (tank) certificate of conformity and/or a tank installation certificate in accordance with BRL SIKB 7800, also serves as evidence of compliance with applicable laws and regulations (for The Netherlands).

A properly applied paint system on aboveground and underground steel tanks, steel pipelines and fittings is essential to protect them against corrosion. The required corrosion class of the paint system depends on the location and installation conditions.
