The evaluation guideline BRL K17505-1 includes all relevant requirements on the basis of which Kiwa will handle applications for certification and the issuing of Kiwa product certificates for TPE MATERIALS intended for products in cold drinking water applications. The certification scheme applies to TPE materials that are supplied to manufacturers of end products.
The evaluation guideline distinguishes two sub groups:
Sealing elements: TPE materials that are intended to have a sealing function in elements in piping systems.
Non sealing elements: TPE materials that are intended to be applied in products or integrated parts in equipment and appliances, surface covers, etcetera without having a sealing function.
Kiwa carries out certifications and inspections for manufacturers of TPE compounds and TPE products, distributors and trading companies.
For Kiwa certified TPE materials intended for products in drinking water applications.
The Kiwa Water Mark is a prove of compliance to the legislation for materials in contact with drinking water.
