Shower Heat Recovery Units testing and certification

A lot of hot water of the shower, goes directly into the sewer. Shower Heat Recovery Units (SHRU or DWTW in Dutch language) have been developed by several companies, which can heat the water for the shower with the wasted water that goes to the sewer. This saves energy with just a small investment. The Shower Heat Recovery Units (SHRU) save gas and money, but also count for the reduction of the energy performing coefficient (EPC).

Kiwa is able to test your Shower Heat Recovery Units (SHRU) according to the Dutch requirement NTA 8800 (EPG) on performance. No audit has to be performed for this test. Several test requirements are layed down in the NTA 8800. On request Kiwa can also test your Shower Heat Recovery Units according specific desired requirements.

Furthermore Kiwa can test the Shower Heat Recovery Units (SHRU) according the Kiwa quality label. The marking of this Kiwa quality label may only be affixed after successful completion of testing, auditing of factory production control and the issue of a certificate by Kiwa.

If you wish to launch your Shower Heat Recovery Units (SHRU) on the Dutch, European or worldwide market, you may be compelled to have production control and the issue of a certificate by an independent accredited authority. Your Shower Heat Recovery Unit (SHRU) may have to to be tested according to the Dutch requirement NTA 8800 (EPG).

Based on your request, Kiwa sends you an offer specifying, among other things, the test program, sampling, inspection of your production process, and the certification schedule. Our offer takes account of the product test results you may already have acquired from other accredited test institutes. The result is a test report and a certificate or declaration. If necessary a surveillance agreement is the final step before you can enter the European or worldwide market.
