Co2 Footprint

Companies recognize the increasing pressure from politics and society to operate sustainably and to deliver products and services that have a low CO2 footprint. It’s important to transparently communicate about their influence on climate change.

Solar panels, heat pumps and other devices contribute to a sustainable energy supply. However, this does not necessarily mean that the devices themselves always have a low CO2 footprint, in terms of production, materials used and lifespan.

Kiwa can help companies to map and manage their CO2 footprint, both at organization and product level.

EPD - Environmental Product Declaration

With an EPD®, an Environmental Product Declaration, you can prove that your solar panels, energy systems and heath pumps, have a low CO2 footprint. An EPD reports the environmental performance of a product, meaning data over the life cycle in accordance with the international standard ISO 14040 and the EN 15804. EPD is accepted in all EU countries.

Kiwa is one of the few providers in Europe of EPD for products in the field of solar panels, energy systems and heath pumps. Kiwa Netherlands and Kiwa Germany work closely together to serve our customers in Europe.

Managing greenhouse gas emissions

The ISO 14064 specifies principles and requirements at organization’s level for the quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals. It provides organizations with tools to develop instruments and programs to reduce CO2 emissions.
