Grand opening of Kiwa’s new Renewable Energy TIC Center in Suzhou, China

The Kiwa Group proudly announces the grand opening of our new Renewable Energy Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) Laboratory Center in Suzhou, China, on December 8, 2025. Spanning 10,000 square meters, this state-of-the-art facility is now the second-largest laboratory within Kiwa globally and the largest and most technically advanced in the Asia-Pacific region.

The new TIC Center sets a benchmark in renewable energy testing, combining cutting-edge infrastructure with internationally recognized standards. It is equipped with high-performance testing systems that support the full lifecycle of energy storage and photovoltaic technologies.

The opening ceremony featured an engaging and celebratory programme, which brought together Kiwa colleagues, valued partners, and key industry stakeholders. We were honoured to welcome a number of distinguished guests, including Mr. Mao, Deputy Mayor of Suzhou; Mrs. Claringbould, Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands,; and Mr. Antonie Bruneel from the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China. We also welcomed representatives from Kiwa, including Luc Leroy, CEO of Kiwa, Ad Besemer, Executive Vice President of Kiwa; Luca Votta, Kiwa's Global Director & Energy Business Sector Leader; Kevin Gibson, Managing Director at Kiwa PVEL; and Asier Ukar, Managing Director and Senior Consultant at Kiwa PI Berlin.

Following the official ceremony, Kiwa hosted a conference and three-hour panel discussion themed “Technology Innovation Drives a Green Future,” which attracted participation from more than 100 leading enterprises in the field. Guests had  the opportunity to participate in guided tours of the new facility, experience live demonstrations of advanced testing equipment, witness a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, gift exchange and enjoyed traditional Chinese dragon and lion dances, to formally inaugurate the centre. The event also included keynote addresses, valuable networking opportunities, and a dedicated showcase highlighting Kiwa’s unwavering commitment to innovation and sustainability within the renewable energy sector.

Energy Storage Testing Center

The new Energy Storage Testing Center offers comprehensive testing capabilities for lithium cells, modules, battery systems, and energy storage systems. It covers electrical performance, safety, environmental reliability, and compliance with global standards such as IEC 62619, UL 1973, and GB/T 36276. This ensures manufacturers and stakeholders can rely on us to validate the safety and reliability of their products in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.

Photovoltaic Testing Center

The PV Testing Center provides testing and certification services for PV modules, components, and power stations, including factory audits, optoelectrical performance testing, environmental reliability assessments, failure analysis, due diligence, and material traceability. With capabilities for IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 certification, we offer robust quality assurance for manufacturers, EPC contractors, investors, and financial institutions.
