Acoustic testing of fittings in accordance with ISO 3822 and issuance of general building inspection certificates (abP)

Noise from plumbing fixtures has a significant impact on the sound insulation and comfort of buildings. In our accredited testing laboratory, we evaluate the acoustic performance of plumbing fixtures in accordance with DIN EN ISO 3822, thereby providing a reliable basis for compliance with the requirements of DIN 4109 and for building code certification.

In our testing laboratory, we conduct comprehensive acoustic tests on faucets in accordance with the international standard DIN EN ISO 3822-1, -2, -3, and -4. We measure the noise performance of spout faucets, straight-through faucets, and specialty faucets under defined operating conditions to ensure compliance with permissible sound levels as specified in DIN 4109-1 or the respective product standard. These tests are crucial for preventing disruptive noise in drinking water systems and meeting sound insulation requirements.

In addition, we are a recognized testing body for issuing general building inspection certificates (abP). Our abP certificates confirm compliance with the respective valve group and other technical requirements necessary for use in buildings with sound insulation requirements.

Our services include:

  • Acoustic measurement of fittings (e.g., faucets, shut-off valves, control valves) in accordance with ISO 3822
  • Determination of the valve noise level (Lap) under operating conditions
  • Classification into noise groups in accordance with DIN 4109-1 or the relevant product standard
  • Issuance of general building inspection test certificates (abP)
