Fire Blankets
DIN EN 1869 defines all guidelines relevant to fire blankets. It is particularly important to note that the regulations governing the use of such fire blankets have changed significantly in recent years. Due to the increased level of risk, it is now only permitted to extinguish cooking oil and fat fires involving up to three liters using a fire blanket.
It should also be noted that each fire blanket may only be used once. The applicable standard further specifies that fire blankets must be made of fiberglass fabric and may only be operated by a single person.
The team at MPA Dresden GmbH will be pleased to support you with the testing of your fire blankets, thereby helping you sustainably optimize your active fire protection measures.
Fire-Fighting Foam – Dry Chemical Powder
The fire-fighting foam or dry chemical powder you use should be characterized by high resistance to re-ignition and the ability to combat fires quickly and effectively in an emergency.
To ensure these requirements are fulfilled and legal regulations are met, these components of active fire protection must be tested and certified on a regular basis. Various standards apply in this context, listed in the following table. As part of specific tests, we determine — depending on requirements — a fire performance rating for the respective foam agents.
