28 April 2026 

Effective 16^th April 2026, the Argentine Government, through the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI), has discontinued several technical services, including RF local testing.

03 March 2026 

On 26^th February 2026, the Argentine National Communications Entity (ENACOM) issued Resolution No. 57/2026, formally replacing the long‑standing Resolution 729/1980. This new regulation introduces a restructured and modernised Type Approval system designed to streamline certification procedures for telecommunications equipment placed on the Argentine market.

04 August 2026 

On 20^th July 2026, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) published a proposal to update the Telecommunications (Labelling Notice for Customer Equipment and Customer Cabling) Instrument 2025 (TLN) and 2 ACMA technical standards.

10 March 2026 

Following the Kiwa Product Compliance regulatory update issued on 7^th November 2024 regarding Cyber Security Act 2024, the Australian Department of Home Affairs has registered the Cyber Security (Security Standards for Smart Devices) Rules 2025 under the Act 2024 on 4^th March 2025. After a 12‑month transition period, the Rules are now in force and mandatory from 4^th March 2026.

Further to the KPC Regulatory Update issue om 13th April 2026, the Public Commission ( PUC) of Belize has issue the National Spectrum Allocation Plan 2026, establishing the updated national framework for frequency allocation and spectrum use. 

13 April 2026 

On 21 March 2026, the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) of Belize published a public notice announcing the opening of a public consultation on the proposed Belize National Spectrum Allocation Plan 2026, which includes an updated National Frequency Allocation Table (NFAT). The Plan serves as Belize’s national regulatory framework for the allocation and management of the radiofrequency spectrum.

Following the Kiwa Product Compliance Regulatory Update from 3^rd July 2026 regarding the public consultation on Low Power Devices operating in the 915–928 MHz band, the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL) published Resolution No. 074-2026 on 4^th September 2026.

On 31^st August 2026, Brazil RF Regulator – AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) – communicated the migration of their system for submitting Type Approval applications from Mosaico-SCH to CERTIFICA.

18 August 2026 

On 12^th August 2026, Brazil RF Regulator – AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) - published Act No. 10400 to amend Act No. 14448 of 4 December 2017. This specifically updates the provisions applicable to the Wi-Fi 6E frequency band (6GHz) in the country.

31 July 2026 

Following KPC’s Regulatory Update of 1st July 2026, the National Environmental Council of Brazil – Conselho Nacional do Meio Ambiente (CONAMA) – has issued Resolution No. 516, establishing restrictions on the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment imported, manufactured, and placed on the Brazilian market.

21 July 2026 

The Brazil RF Regulator – Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL) – launched a Public Consultation proposing new requirements for the marking of mobile phones, batteries, and power adapters. The proposal aims to strengthen product traceability, improve the security of ANATEL certification markings, and enhance the monitoring of certified telecommunications equipment in the Brazilian market.

01 July 2026 

Following KPC’s Regulatory Updated of 26^th August 2025, the National Environmental Council of Brazil – Conselho Nacional do Meio Ambiente (CONAMA) – has reviewed and approved the regulation on hazardous substances (RoHS) requirements for electrical and electronic equipment imported and sold in the country.

16 January 2026 

On December 23^rd 2025,  the Brazilian RF Regulator - AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) - issued a public consultation applicable to data centers integrated into telecommunications networks.

10 March 2026 

Further to the KPC Regulatory Updates issued on February 2026, regarding the new Mandatory Approval List for RF and Telecom Products, the Bolivian RF Regulator- Autoridad de Regulación y Fiscalización de Telecomunicaciones y Transporters (ATT)- has published an updated Simplified Mandatory Type Approval List on 25 February 2026, effective from the date of publication.

Further to the KPC Regulatory Update issued on 4^th February, our local partners have received confirmation from the Authority that an updated list of telecommunications equipment subject to Type Approval is expected to be issued shortly.

04 February 2026 

On 28^th January 2026, Autoridad de Regulación y Fiscalización de Telecomunicaciones y Transportes (ATT) in Bolivia has updated the list of telecommunications equipment subject to Type Approval, effective from its publication date. This update introduces significant changes to the country’s Type Approval framework.
According to the revised approved equipment list, several categories of radiofrequency (RF) and telecommunications equipment are no longer subject to mandatory Type Approval, provided that such equipment does not form part of the core telecommunications network.

11 May 2026 

On 23^rd April 2026, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) and the Telecommunication Regulator of Cambodia (TRC) released a draft Regulation (Prakas) on the Technical Standards of Telecommunications Equipment for public consultation.

On 23rd April 2026, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) and the Telecommunication Regulator of Cambodia (TRC) published a public consultation on a new regulatory framework - “Draft Prakas on Type Approvals and Conformity Assessment of Telecommunications Equipment”.

On 16^th March 2026 - The Board of Directors of the Regulatory Authority in Cape Verde – Agência Reguladora Multissetorial da Economia (ARME) – approved a new National Frequency Allocation Framework (QNAF).

12 January 2026 

On 19^th December 2025, the Ministry of Communication and Digital (KOMDIGI) of Indonesia released a new Regulation, Ministerial Decree No. 569 of 2025, regarding the technical standards for mobile telecommunication equipment based on LTE and 5G NR technologies.

04 August 2026 

The Chilean RF Regulator - Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones de Chile (SUBTEL) - has published Resolution Nº 1,247 Exenta (dated 3rd July 2026), amending Resolution Nº 1,985 Exenta of 2017, which establishes the Technical Standard for Short-Range Devices. The resolution also introduces a consolidated, coordinated and systematised version of the applicable regulation.

12 June 2026 

Following KPC's Regulatory Update of 11^th April 2025 regarding the public consultation on new device charging standards, on 13^th May 2026 the Chilean Ministry of Economy published Decree No. 60, implementing Law No. 21.695 and establishing common interoperability requirements between mobile information and telecommunications devices and their chargers.

18 March 2026 

On 10th Mar 2026, Chile RF Authority- Subsecretaria of Telecommunications (SUBTEL)- opened a public consultation on the enabling of the 600 MHz frequency band for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT).

02 March 2026 

Further to Kiwa Product Compliance Regulatory Update of 2^nd February 2026 regarding the proposed Regulatory amendment for opening up the 900 MHz frequency band; on 6^th February 2026, the Agencia Nacional del Espectro  (ANE) published the Resolution 000028 /2026  establishing the conditions for assigning 900 MHz radio spectrum.

Further to Kiwa Product Compliance Regulatory Update of 11th June 2025 regarding the proposed regulatory amendment for opening up the 900 MHz frequency band;  on 27^th January 2026, the Ministerio de Technología de la información y las telecominicaciones (MinTIC) together with the Colombian regulatory authority, Agencia Nacional del Espectro (ANE), has published the drafts of the resolutions establishing conditions for assigning 900 MHz radio spectrum permits to expand Internet access in rural and remote areas.

Following the approval of the new National Frequency Allocation Plan (PNAF), the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL) has launched a Public Consultation to establish the technical and operational requirements applicable to Low Power Devices (LPDs) and Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) applications operating within the 915–928 MHz frequency band.

19 January 2026 

The Dominican Republic Regulator – Instituto Dominicano de las Telecomunicaciones (INDOTEL) – has announced an extension of the public consultation period regarding the proposed reform of the General Telecommunications Law No. 153-98, which constitutes the main legal framework governing the telecommunications sector in the country.

13 April 2026 

On 27^th March 2026, the Ecuadorian Telecommunications Agency (ARCOTEL) issued Resolution No. 03-02SO-ARCOTEL-2026, approving an Integral Update of the National Frequency Plan (PNF). The PNF constitutes Ecuador’s primary technical and regulatory framework governing the allocation, administration, and use of the radiofrequency spectrum.

14 April 2026 

The Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM) has issued a General Notice No. 4/2026 announcing stricter enforcement of existing Type Approval requirements for electronic communications equipment effective from 13^th April 2026.

14 September 2026 

Following the public consultation of July 2026, the Honduras RF Regulator - Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL) - published an updated version of the National Frequency Allocation Plan (CNAF), which is effective as of 2^nd September 2026.

30 July 2026 

On 27th July 2026, the Honduras RF Authority- Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL)- launched a Public Consultation on proposed amendments to the National Frequency Allocation Plan (CNAF), aimed at making additional frequency bands available for wireless and mobile communications services in Honduras.

04 March 2026 

Following the Kiwa Regulatory Update issued on 02 February 2026, the Honduran RF Regulator – Comision Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL) – appointed, during the last week of February, the Director-level staff responsible for signing Type Approval certificates.

On 27^th January 2026, Nasry Asfura assumed the office of the President of Honduras. As a result of this announcement, restructuring is currently underway at Honduran RF Regulator - Comision Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL) – which is likely to cause delays to Type Approval processes.

17 April 2026 

In March 2026, the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) of Hong Kong released updated versions of two Technical Specifications and subsequently published a new edition of Table of Frequency Allocation in April 2026.

Further to the publication of IS/IEC 62368-1:2023, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has now issued the series guidelines for products falling under the new standard.

21 April 2026 

Further to the Department of Telecommunication’s (DoT) notification dated 6^th March 2026 advising stakeholders of the mandatory steps to follow for existing ETAs for devices capable of operating in the 5925–6425 MHz band, an additional notification has been issued regarding the extension of the deadline.  

24 March 2026 

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has now published formal implementation guidelines for the safety standard update, transitioning from the current IS 13252(Part 1):2010/ IEC 60950-1: 2005 and IS 616: 2017/ IEC 60065: 2014 standards to the new IS/IEC 62368-1:2023 standard.

13 March 2026 

Further to the Department of Telecommunications’ (DoT) publication of GSR 47(E) for the delicensing of the lower 6 GHz band (5925–6425 MHz), the WPC Wing of the DoT has issued a Public Notice mandating stakeholders/manufacturers/importers to apply for a new ETA certificate for devices capable of operating in the 5925–6425 MHz band.

21 February 2026

Further to KPC’s Regulatory Update issued on 4^th February 2026 regarding the Department of Telecommunications’ (DoT) publication of GSR 47(E) for the delicensing of the lower 6 GHz band (5925–6425 MHz), it has been confirmed that it is now possible to apply ETA-SD (Equipment Type Approval – Self Declaration) including this band via the Saral Sanchar portal.

05 February 2026

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has published a notification to clarify that manufacturers are not permitted to make multiple applications under MTCTE for equipment with the same model number which already has a valid certificate of Conformity Assessment.

04 February 2026 

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has officially published GSR 47(E) for the lower 6 GHz band (5925–6425 MHz). As per this notification, the 6GHz band has now been delicensed for low-power indoor wireless use.

20 February 2026 

On 9^th February 2026, the National Communications Authority of Ghana (NCA) opened a Public Consultation on general standards and specifications for Terminal Communication Equipment intended for use on the Electronic Communications Network. This includes equipment operating on GSM technology, ITU IMT-2000 (UTRA FDD and E-UTRA FDD), and IMT 2020.

28 April 2026 

Further to the Kiwa Product Compliance Regulatory Update of 4^th March 2026 regarding Draft Regulation on Mandatory SAR Requirements for Mobile Phones and Tablets, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (KOMDIGI) of Indonesia has officially issued the final Ministerial Decree No. 197 of 2026 regarding Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Limits on Mobile Telecommunication Devices and Tablet Computers.

03 March 2026 

On 19^th February 2026, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (KOMDIGI) of Indonesia issued a notice regarding the socialization of a draft Ministerial Decree intended to replace Ministerial Decree No. 177 of 2024 regarding mandatory Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) requirements for mobile phones and tablets.

12 January 2026 

On 19^th December 2025, the Ministry of Communication and Digital (KOMDIGI) of Indonesia released a new Regulation, Ministerial Decree No. 569 of 2025, regarding the technical standards for mobile telecommunication equipment based on LTE and 5G NR technologies.

Following the Kiwa Product Compliance Regulatory Update dated 22^nd July 2025 concerning the Shutdown of 2G and 3G Networks in Israel by January 2026, on 18^th December 2025, the Israeli Regulatory Authority, the Ministry of Communications, published a new timeline for the shutdown of the legacy networks and the transition towards 5G.

03 September 2026 

The Regulatory Authority in Ivory Coast - Autorité de Régulation des Télécommunications/TIC de Côte d'Ivoire (ARTCI) – has launched a public consultation aimed at establishing a regulatory framework for the introduction of Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) services in Ivory Coast.

21 April 2026 

On 9^th February 2026, the Regulatory Authority in Ivory Coast - Autorité de Régulation des Télécommunications/TIC de Côte d'Ivoire (ARTCI) -  initiated the digitalisation of Type Approval applications as part of a broader effort to modernise and streamline its procedures. A one‑month pilot experimental phase of this new electronic system is currently ongoing.

25 September 2026 

On 24^th July 2026, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) issued Ministerial Ordinance No. 91, amending the Radio Equipment Regulations for certain low-power radio equipment. The amendment entered into force on the same date.

30 June 2026 

On 23^rd June 2026, Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) amended the Radio Act Enforcement Regulations and related notifications to permit the outdoor operation of 920 MHz band wireless power transfer (WPT) systems under specified technical and operational requirements.

27 April 2026 

On 15th April 2026, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) in Japan notified an amendment to its radio equipment certification framework under the Radio Act (Law No. 131 of 1950). The amendment focuses on changes to certification procedures when radio equipment construction design is modified due to software updates.

10 March 2026 

Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has notified a proposed partial amendment to the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Radio Act that will impact Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) devices.

14 April 2026 

Further to the KPC Regulatory Update of 11^th February regarding the revised policy on wireless devices by the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK), which removed the previous exemption for Short Range Devices (SRDs) and confirmed that all wireless devices must now obtain formal Type Approval, CAK has additionally confirmed to KPC that the submission of samples is now mandatory for all Type Approval applications.

On 30^th April 2026, The Lebanese Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) launched a Public Consultation regarding a draft document titled “Spectrum Refarming: Broadband Context and Framework”.

On 4^th September 2026, the Mexican Government published a new Regulation under the Quality Infrastructure Law, replacing the previous Regulation of the Federal Law on Metrology and Standardization.

Following the KPC Regulatory Update of 14^th  August 2026 regarding the Public Consultation on the update to IFT-011-2022 for Cell Broadcast Services (CBS), the RF Mexican Authority - Comisión Reguladora de Telecomunicaciones (CRT) - published the final modification to Technical Provision IFT-011-2022, Part 3, in Mexico’s Official Gazette on 28^th  August 2026.

14 September 2026 

The Mexican RF Authority - Comisión Reguladora de Telecomunicaciones (CRT) - launched a Public Consultation on 10^th September 2026 regarding proposed measures to simplify a number of regulatory procedures related to Homologation, Numbering and Broadcasting.

15 August 2026 

The RF Mexican Authority - Comisión Reguladora de Telecomunicaciones (CRT) - launched a public consultation on 7^th August 2026 on proposed updates to Technical Provision IFT-011-2022, which establishes technical requirements for mobile terminal equipment capable of using the radiofrequency spectrum or connecting to telecommunications networks.

02 March 2026 

On February 24th, 2026, the Mexican Government issued the National Quality Infrastructure Program for 2026. The document states that several government agencies responsible for different sectors will review existing NOMs to update them and develop new ones.

03 April 2026 

On 13^th February 2026, the Communications Regulatory Commission of Mongolia (CRC) issued a supplementary Annex to Resolution No. 24, updating the regulations for the Certification of Information and Communication Equipment.

12 May 2026 

Further to the KPC Regulatory Update dated 15^th January 2026 concerning the Public Inquiry on the Spectrum Roadmap 2025–2030, the 60 GHz Multi-Gigabit Wireless Guidelines, and the Lower 6 GHz Band Usage Guidelines, Kiwa Product Compliance has received official confirmation from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) that the final regulatory framework for the use of the lower 6 GHz band (5925–6425 MHz) in Nigeria has now been formally issued and is currently in effect.

24 March 2026 

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) published its Spectrum Roadmap for 2026-2030 as a frequency plan that outlines short, medium and long term plans for the assignment and utilization of spectrum in the Nigerian Communications Sector.  The document maps out Nigeria’s strategic approach to spectrum allocation and management over the next five years.

11 February 2026 

On 9^th February 2026,  in accordance with Section 24(1) of the Nigerian Communications Act 2003, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) published a Consultation Paper for the Review of the National Telecommunications Policy 2000.

15 January 2026 

Nigerian Regulator - The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) -  has formally announced a public inquiry on key draft regulatory frameworks intended to shape the country’s spectrum management and deployment strategy through to 2030. 

12 Auugust 2026 

The Autorité de Régulation des Communications Électroniques et de la Poste (ARCEP) of Niger has launched a Public Consultation on its Draft Transition Plan for implementing the 2025 National Frequency Allocation Plan (PNAF), covering the period 2027-2029. The Consultation aims to gather input from operators, equipment manufacturers, internet service providers, broadcasters, and other stakeholders on proposed spectrum migrations and reallocations.

25 May 2026 

The Niger Regulator - the  Autorité de Régulation des Communications Electroniques et des Postes (ARCEP) - published Decision No. 004/CNRCEP/ARCEP/DG of 11^th May 2026 approving the new National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP) in Niger.

17 June 2026 

On 7^th June 2026 the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of Oman opened a Public Consultation on the preparation for IMT-2030 (6G) deployment.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of Oman has launched the Self-Declaration of Conformity service as part of the Type Approval System.

15 September 2026 

On 8th September 2026, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) published the Telecommunication Equipment Standards Regulations, 2024 on its website. The Regulations establish the technical standards applicable to telecommunication equipment and apply to PTA licensees, manufacturers, importers and vendors.

08 April 2026

On 19th March 2026, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) authorised Cellular Mobile Operators to commence 5G services in Pakistan.

23 January 2026 

On 18^th December 2025, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) released version 1.4 of the Regulatory Framework for Short Range Devices (SRD) and Terrestrial Internet of Things (IoT) Services.

29 July 2026 

On 24^th July 2026 the Paraguayan Regulatory Authority - La Comision Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL) - published a Public Consultation on the updated Regulation for the Homologation of Telecommunications Equipment and Devices. This Public Consultation has been launched as part of the Regulatory Impact Analysis Project focused on Regulatory Simplification.

09 January 2026 

On the 17^th December 2025, Paraguay’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL), issued Resolución de Directorio No. 3339/2025, whose main objective is to establish the use of the frequency band between 3,700 MHz and 3,800 MHz for IMT (International Mobile Telecommunications) systems. This decision incorporates this segment of the radiofrequency spectrum into advanced mobile telecommunications services, enabling its use for technologies such as 5G and future evolutions of high-capacity mobile networks.

27 March 2026 

Further to the KPC Regulatory Update issued on 5^th March, Kiwa Product Compliance have received confirmation from the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) of Qatar that only part of the 6 GHz frequency is currently permitted for Wi-Fi use in Qatar and recognised on the Qatar National Frequency Plan (QNFAP).

11 August 2026 - The Government of Rwanda has approved a phased plan to retire the country’s legacy 2G and 3G mobile networks and transition towards 4G and 5G technologies. Under the approved plan, 3G mobile services will be switched off nationwide on 30^th June 2027, while the retirement of 2G services is currently being targeted for December 2028.

Further to the KPC Regulatory Update issued on 13^th March 2026 regarding IMDA TS CMT Issue 1 Revision 4, the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) of Singapore has advised that with effect from 1^st April 2026, the Emergency Cell Broadcast Service (CBS) requirements will be strictly enforced. National Commission for State Regulation of Electronic Communications, Radio Frequency Spectrum and Postal Services of Ukraine  (NCEC) has adopted Decree #475 introducing procedure, requiring manufacturers to inform users about the operating conditions of radio devices. The aim of regulation is to strengthen consumer awareness and ensure that  products placed on the Ukrainian market comply with the requirements of EU Directive 2014/53/EU (RED) and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/1354.

The proposal aims to align Thailand's regulatory requirements with the latest international standards while updating product compliance and labelling requirements.

The Kingdom of Tonga has established the Communications Commission Tonga (CCT) as the new independent telecommunications regulator, responsible for telecommunications, broadcasting, and radio spectrum management within Tonga. Effective from July 2026, CTT will assume regulatory oversight functions previously managed by the Ministry of Communications, MEIDECC.

The Gabonese Regulator - the Autorité de Régulation des Communications Electroniques et des Postes (ARCEP) - has launched a nationwide compliance awareness and enforcement campaign targeting telecommunications and wireless-enabled equipment placed on the market. The initiative covers products such as mobile phones, tablets, modems, routers, smartwatches, and other connected devices.

On 28^th May 2026, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) published the Compliance Management Catalogue for the Restricted Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products (2026 Edition) and the corresponding Exemption List (2026 Edition). The updated catalogue significantly expands the scope of products subject to China RoHS compliance requirements.
