Doldersum achieves certification for ISO 14001, the CO2 Performance Ladder and WEEELABEX
Following a successful audit by Kiwa, Sloop- en Handelsbedrijf Doldersum B.V., specialized in demolition, metal trading and recycling, has achieved certification for ISO 14001, the CO2 Performance Ladder and WEEELABEX. This marks an important step for the family owned company in Westerhaar-Vriezenveensewijk, Netherlands, as it continues to develop its business and expand its activities.
What are ISO 14001, the CO2 Performance Ladder and WEEELABEX?
The ISO 14001 standard provides an internationally recognized framework for establishing and improving an environmental management system. The CO2 Performance Ladder helps organizations systematically measure and reduce their CO2 emissions and report on their efforts transparently. WEEELABEX sets requirements for the collection, processing and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment, helping ensure high quality and responsible treatment of e-waste.
Doldersum has been active for many years in the collection, processing and trading of ferrous and nonferrous metals, cables, batteries, end of life vehicles and other recyclable materials. The company also supplies new metals, such as steel, aluminum and stainless steel, to businesses and individuals. The company works every day to recover valuable raw materials and keep materials available for reuse and recycling.
Certification is a means, not an end
The family owned company is known for its practical approach and direct lines of communication. Brothers Jan and Jan Doldersum have a clear ambition: to develop the business step by step, prepare for future regulatory requirements and remain a reliable, professional partner for customers and supply chain partners. The certifications are not an end in themselves but a means of supporting this ongoing development.
An intensive process
For a relatively small organization, achieving three certifications at the same time was an intensive process. Considerable work was therefore done ahead of the audits to document processes, increase environmental awareness throughout the organization, establish management systems and demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the various standards. Employee commitment played an important role. Throughout the process, Doldersum received support from consulting firm AdbLOM.
ISO 14001 and the CO2 Performance Ladder
With ISO 14001 certification, Doldersum has further embedded its environmental management system and documented how it works to control and improve its environmental performance. Certification for the CO2 Performance Ladder provides insight into energy consumption and CO2 emissions and establishes a basis for further reducing the environmental impact of its operations.

WEEELABEX
WEEELABEX certification also marks an important expansion of the company's activities. This certification enables Doldersum to dismantle and process waste electrical and electronic equipment in a certified manner. This further expands the company's services and allows it to respond to growing demand for high quality processing of electronic equipment and the recovery of valuable raw materials.
A solid foundation
The certifications align with broader developments in the sector, where sustainability, circularity and demonstrable quality are playing an increasingly important role. For Doldersum, they provide a solid foundation for building the future of the family business while staying true to the approach that has made the company successful: practical, reliable and focused on the long term.
