We are happy to support you and your company with tailored solutions for the planning and implementation of an external Fire Safety Officer in accordance with vfdb Guideline 12-09/01.
External Fire Safety Officers serve as the central point of contact for all fire protection matters within a company. They advise and support employers in all aspects of preventive, defensive, and organizational fire protection, as well as in corporate emergency management. The external Fire Safety Officer also provides guidance on equipping workplaces and facilities—for example, with fire extinguishing equipment—and assists in selecting appropriate extinguishing agents.
Companies are required, due to regulations, legal provisions, official requirements, or risk assessments, to appoint a Fire Safety Officer. Preventing fires, avoiding their spread, and combating incipient fires are shared responsibilities of all employees. If an employer—where necessary—does not have an in-house Fire Safety Officer or has no trained staff available, an external Fire Safety Officer must be appointed.
