Kiwa ExTEL Expands O&M Operations in Southern Taiwan and Accelerates APAC Market Growth

Kiwa ExTEL showcases smart O&M and solar PV testing services at Energy Taiwan 2026 (Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1, Booth K0701).

As Taiwan’s solar photovoltaic (PV) market shifts from plant construction to long-term operational performance, Kiwa ExTEL is expanding its footprint in operation and maintenance (O&M) services, regional infrastructure, and international markets. Participating in Energy Taiwan 2026 (Booth K0701, Taipei Nankai Exhibition Center Hall 1), the company is highlighting four key strategic pillars: Third-Party Professional Services, Smart O&M Solutions, Regional Expansion in Southern Taiwan, and International Track Record across the Asia-Pacific region.

Enhancing Long-Term Solar Asset Yield Through Independent O&M

With the cumulative capacity of solar power plants growing annually, asset owners are pivoting from "how to build" to "how to ensure long-term, stable generation." Kiwa ExTEL is actively scaling its third-party O&M services, combining its established testing and inspection capabilities with daily monitoring, routine inspections, equipment maintenance, anomaly resolution, and emergency response.

"Unlike traditional O&M contractors, Kiwa ExTEL enters the market as an independent, third-party testing specialist," said Fred Chen, General Manager of Kiwa ExTEL. "By integrating on-site execution expertise with a nationwide dispatch network, we help asset owners mitigate long-term operational risks and maximize overall power yield." Kiwa ExTEL currently manages more than 100 rooftop solar sites and major Taipower utility-scale ground-mounted projects across central and southern Taiwan, accumulating a total managed capacity exceeding 300 MW.

Kiwa ExTEL provides professional third-party inspection services, helping solar PV plant owners monitor equipment health and optimize power generation efficiency.

New Tainan Office in Shalun Boosts Regional Engineering Capabilities

To better serve the green energy industrial cluster in southern Taiwan, Kiwa ExTEL officially inaugurated its new Tainan office in July at the Shalun Smart Green Energy Science City. The new location expands Kiwa ExTEL’s local O&M service capacity while serving as the core R&D and technical support hub for the company's proprietary DAS 2.0 Soil Monitoring System.

Expanding Footprint in the Philippines Exceeds 1.5 GW in Inspected Capacity

Beyond Taiwan, Southeast Asia has become a primary driver of Kiwa ExTEL's international growth. Since entering the Philippines market in 2025, Kiwa ExTEL has provided a comprehensive suite of technical services, including drone thermal imaging, pyranometer and weather station calibration, commissioning inspections, Performance Ratio (PR) testing, and health checks or damage assessments for aging plants. Serving key industry leaders such as Meralco, ACEN, and VENA, Kiwa ExTEL’s total inspected capacity in the Philippines has surpassed 1.5 GW.

In May 2026, Kiwa ExTEL showcased its technical solutions at Solar & Storage Live Philippines 2026, engaging with regional industry stakeholders and delivering presentations on solar asset protection and performance optimization.

DAS 2.0 Smart Dust Monitoring Deployed Across 2 GW+ Global Solar Assets

Kiwa ExTEL continues to deploy its self-developed DAS 2.0 Soil Monitoring System. By delivering real-time soiling data, DAS 2.0 empowers plant operators to optimize module cleaning schedules—improving power generation efficiency while reducing unnecessary operational expenditures.

DAS 2.0 is now widely deployed across large-scale utility projects in both Taiwan and overseas markets, particularly in the Philippines, where extreme ambient heat, volcanic ash, and tropical typhoons make soiling management critical to long-term performance. To date, over 250 DAS 2.0 units have been installed across Taiwan and the Philippines, monitoring more than 2 GW of solar capacity.

Guided by Kiwa’s global brand promise—"Creating Trust, Driving Progress"—Kiwa ExTEL combines Kiwa’s global Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) expertise with local engineering execution in Taiwan. From post-construction quality assurance to long-term operational asset management, Kiwa ExTEL remains dedicated to safeguarding the reliability, safety, and long-term ROI of renewable energy investments.
