The services of the Kiwa Italia Plastics Laboratory, accredited LAB No. 0001L by ACCREDIA, are aimed at manufacturers of plastic pipes, fittings and systems who need to verify (under extreme operating conditions) that the declared characteristics meet the requirements of the Reference Standards.

Pressure tightness tests provide data on the strength of the specimen under test, going on to verify, under the most critical conditions, that the characteristics declared by the manufacturer and required by product standards remain constant over time.

Each test method used is based on scientific reasoning that is then verified by practical experience. The Reference Standard determines the test criteria by implying the specific conditions.

Once the samples have been conditioned, an internal hydrostatic pressure is applied and must remain constant for a specific period of time or until one or more pieces fail the test (leakage or sample rupture). During the test, the samples are maintained in a specific and constant environment and temperature, which may be water in water and/or water in air.
