ISO 9001, the world’s most widely used management system standard, is being revised. The new edition, ISO 9001:2026, is expected to be published in the first half of 2026. The revision focuses on clarifying and updating existing requirements.

As of 2 July 2025, NEN, the scheme manager of the Safety Culture Ladder (SCL), will introduce a renewed range of SCL products. ISO/IEC 42001 is an international standard that helps organizations manage these risks and ensure responsible AI applications.

As of January 6, 2025, Wim van Loon will be appointed Managing Director of Kiwa Nederland. Kiwa operates globally in the TIC sector (Testing, Inspection, and Certification), with Kiwa Nederland being one of the group’s largest entities. Van Loon (58) has held senior leadership roles throughout his career in the TIC industry. In his new role, Wim Van Loon will report directly to Nicolas Kyndt, COO EMEA and member of Kiwa's Management Board.

Kiwa has extended its successful collaboration with the Royal Dutch Rowing Federation (KNRB) for another two years. Since 1992, Kiwa has supported the Dutch rowing team, and the Kiwa logo will continue to feature prominently on the boats of TeamNL Rowing as they prepare for the 2026 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam.

On 10 July 2024, it was officially announced in the Dutch government gazette Staatscourant that Kiwa subsidiary Vinçotte has been designated as a certified body for nuclear inspections in the Netherlands for the next two years. This designation allows Vinçotte to conduct inspections for nuclear pressure equipment during all phases of the inspection process, including design, commissioning and operation.

Every day, dozens of electric bicycles are stolen in the Netherlands. The high value and limited security of e-bikes make them attractive targets, even in enclosed spaces such as garages and sheds. In response to this, vehicle security specialist Kiwa SCM has launched the 'Electronic Security Systems for Two-Wheelers' certification mark, aimed at the independent certification of bicycle GPS tracking systems.
