Hydrogen

Hydrogen can make an important contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as at the point of use it creates zero carbon emissions for a variety of our energy needs.

There is clear potential for hydrogen as an energy source, energy carrier, and for both the built environment and in the transport sector. Hydrogen has a place at multiple points of the energy system, from production, storage, distribution, transport, and use. It complements a multi-vector energy system and addresses the intermittency issues for electricity generation.

How can Kiwa help?

Kiwa is leading the facilitation of the international acceptance of hydrogen as an energy vector, and is active at each stage of the energy system infrastructure. As an expert in testing, certification, consultancy and training for hydrogen and other gas-fuelled appliances, we have a pioneering position in the conversion to hydrogen from existing energy systems and identifying new applications for hydrogen.

With extensive hydrogen testing facilities (state of the art across Europe and UK), and expert hydrogen certification and consultancy teams, Kiwa has a unique standpoint when it comes to hydrogen.
