Kiwa advises Sonnedix on the quality control of an international portfolio of 1.1 GW + 2.7GWh of PV and BESS projects
Kiwa PI Berlin advises Sonnedix on quality control through an agreement that includes factory inspection and auditing services, production supervision, ESG analysis and traceability, in-factory testing and in-house laboratory testing.
Our consulting firm Kiwa PI Berlin, through its subsidiary in Spain, has signed a framework quality assurance agreement with Sonnedix, a global renewable energy company, for 1.1 GW + 2.7 GWh of PV and BESS projects.
The agreement includes factory inspection and auditing services, production supervision, in-factory testing and in‑house laboratory testing at Kiwa PI China according to ISO 17025 accreditation.
These are specifically ToPCon bifacial modules and lithium-ion Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) that will be used to build PV and BESS projects in Spain, Chile, Italy, France, Poland, UK and Portugal.
For a year and a half, Kiwa PI Berlin will carry out factory audits, production supervision, pre-shipment inspection, laboratory tests and container-loading checks. These services will be complemented by ESG audits and traceability analysis of key materials during manufacturing.
This announcement is in addition to a similar one signed in 2023, a quality assurance framework agreement for 1.2 GW of PV modules that includes factory inspection and auditing services, production supervision, factory testing and laboratory testing according to ISO 17025 accreditation. In that case, they were PERC bifacial modules from the Chinese manufacturer ‘Astroenergy’ that were used to build 35 projects in Europe.
Sonnedix currently has a capacity of more than 11.9 GW in its portfolio, of which almost 1 GW is under construction and more than 6.7 GW under development, distributed in Chile, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Poland, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.
