Our presenters

The webinar consists of several parts. We will start with a plenary session where the Swedish futurist Gustaf Josefsson Tadaa will talk about the possibilities of technology in the future. Afterwards, the group will be divided into two plenary sessions and presentations on topics related to water or renewable energy can be followed. More information on the speakers can be found below.

Gustav Tadaa - Futurist

"Materials in contact with drinking water: towards an EU-system".

On 12 January 2021, the recast of the Drinking Water Directive 2020/2184 (DWD) entered into force. The Commission (DG ENV) will address the provisions on Article 11 of the recast DWD relating to materials in contact with water intended for human consumption. These provisions concern procedures and methods for testing and authorisation, the establishment of European positive lists (e.g. for substances), the conformity assessment procedure and labelling."

Marcel Jutte - Hudson Cybertec

"The importance of cybersecurity in a digital era".

How can you ensure that your organisations get and keep their Industrial Automation & Control Systems digitally resilient? Marcel Jutte highlights the importance of an integrated and pragmatic approach, focusing on people, organisation and technology.

Proff. R. Ad van Wijk

"Why Hydrogen?"

In 1874, Jules Verne wrote in his book "The Mysterious Island". "Yes, my friends, I am convinced that water will one day be used as fuel and that hydrogen (...) will be an inexhaustible source of heat and light!" He was a visionary, but now he is right. But why hydrogen and why now, and what role will hydrogen play in a sustainable energy system? Hydrogen, just like electricity, is not an energy source but an energy carrier, but why do we need this energy carrier? In my talk I will discuss this system role of hydrogen and how hydrogen can be produced, transported, stored and used.
