The European REACH Regulation has become applicable since 1st June. It is intended to improve knowledge about the chemicals circulating in the European Union. This new regulation requires manufacturers/importers of chemical substances, preparations or items containing chemicals, to gather and disseminate information about the characteristics of their products. Henceforth, it will no longer be possible to introduce any substance into the market without first registering it with the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency).
