Gas Appliance CE Marking Post Brexit

Manufacturers with CE marks currently affixed through UK NOBO's must replace these with UKCA marks (for sales to England, Scotland and Wales) and UKNI marks (for sales to Northern Ireland). This requires gaining UKCA Certification (which may be able to be done without retest) and refreshing your Product Surveillance contracts.

Manufacturers selling products into the UK using a current EU NOBO can continue until the end of 2021; after this date all products must transfer to UKCA or UKNI marks. This requires gaining UKCA Certification (which may be able to be done without retest) and refreshing of your Product Surveillance contract.

UK exporters to the EU must gain accreditation from an EU NOBO immediately. This will require a new Product Surveillance contract. Depending on the EU NOBO and UKCA body it may be possible to combine the Product Surveillance visit for both UK, UKCA and UKNI.

Please note that the UKNI mark is insufficient to sell into Eire. The situation is complex so please discuss with our office and see the Government website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/using-the-ukni-marking
