Kiwa Agri Food awarded certificate for accreditation to ISO17021-1
Lee Shaw, our Head of Quality, attended the first in-person certificate presentation event held at UKAS HQ since the pandemic. He was delighted to accept Kiwa Agri Food’s certificate for accreditation to ISO17021-1 for Feed Safety Management Systems Certification. This new accreditation complements Kiwa Agri Food’s longstanding ISO17065 Product Certification accreditation.
Lee said “the achievement of this accreditation is testament to the hard work and dedication of the Kiwa Agri Food team and demonstrates their commitment to providing our customers and the marketplace with a first class assurance service in what was the most challenging of circumstances. The Kiwa core values of Ambitious, Reliable and Engaged were demonstrated by all involved.”
The process for this accreditation started just as the pandemic hit the UK in 2020 and so created a lot of challenges for both Kiwa, UKAS and our customers. Kiwa Agri Food was one of the first organisations to have its annual assessment conducted remotely by UKAS in May 2020. By each sharing their learning experiences from this process we were able to work together professionally to ensure that all stages of the assessment process ran smoothly, ultimately leading to the grant of accreditation in June 2021.

Based in Harrogate, Kiwa Agri Food specialises in product certification services for the farm, animal feed and food sectors. Its team of 30 staff and 80 sub-contracted auditors together design, apply, audit and monitor protocols that help retailers, suppliers, producers and farmers build consumer confidence at all stages of the international food supply chain. Kiwa Agri Food’s product certification services have been accredited by UKAS for over 20 years.
