New: Accredited heat pump vibration testing according to IEC 60335-2-40:2022 Edition 7.0

Flammable refrigerants such as A2L and A3 are increasingly being used for heat exchange in heat pumps. This means that safety aspects of heat pumps are becoming more and more important and complex. That is why the latest version of the IEC 60335-2-40, concerning the safety of electrical appliances for household and similar purposes, deals with, among others, the vibration aspects of heat pumps. Kiwa’s heat pump testing and certification experts can perform accredited tests according to the IEC 60335-2-40 and other heat pump related standards.

In the IEC 60335-2-40 (7th edition) vibration aspects of heat pumps related to the use of flammable refrigerants are being assessed using the standard ISO 13355:2016, containing safety requirements for lightweight aggregates. ISO 13355:2016 specifies a method to carry out a vertical random vibration test on a complete, filled transport package(s) and unit loads using random excitation. Kiwa offers heat pump testing according to the IEC 60335-2-40, using ISO 13355 requirements.
