Kiwa partners up with Eco-Runner Team Delft
As hydrogen experts we are always enthusiastic about new innovative hydrogen projects. Kiwa sees the Eco-Runner team of the Delft university as a good example of the possibilities hydrogen offers for a sustainable future.
The Eco-Runner Team Delft consists of 25 students of the university of technology Delft. To build the world’s most efficient hydrogen powered car they are a multidisciplinary team with students from all faculties of the university. Every year a new series of full and part timers join the team to keep increasing the efficiency of the vehicle. This year the team is working on the Eco-Runner 9 and are aiming for the title of the Shell Eco-marathon 2019.
Shell Eco-Marathon
The Shell Eco-marathon is an international event, for science, technology, engineering and maths students to design and build ultra-energy-efficient cars, and then take them out on the track in competition. Every team gets one kilowatt of a self chosen fuel (e.g. hydrogen or electricity) and challenge them to drive the longest distance. This year the Eco-Marathon will be held in London from the 2nd to the 5th of July.
Dutch edition
Yesterday the Eco-Runner team was present at the Dutch Shell Eco-Marathon in Oss. During the event they tested and optimized their vehicle and it was a perfect occasion for their drivers to get some extra practice as well. As a proud partner Kiwa was present during the 4 day event.
The future is hydrogen!
A future in which sustainable energy dominates; that sounds good right? Therefore it is Kiwa’s mission to contribute to hydrogen powered mobility systems and inform the public about the use of it. The Eco-Runner project of the TU Delft seamlessly fits into this mission and therefore Kiwa is a proud partner of this team of enthusiastic students.
