WELS - Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme

WELS is Australia's water efficiency labelling scheme that requires certain products to be registered and labelled for their water efficiency in accordance with the standard set under the national Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards Act 2005.

The WELS team is located within the Australian Environment Quality Division department.
The scheme is developed with a classification system for water consumption usage.
Further information about the WELS – scheme can be obtained on the site : http://www.waterrating.gov.au/about-wels

The test laboratory of the unit Drinking Water Installation is accredited according to ISO17025 and designated as a recognized laboratory for providing the test reports for the WELS - scheme according to Australian Standard AS/NZS 6400. The assessment is usually conducted in combination with testing for an Australian certification approval scheme, but can be requested individually.
