Worldwide there are many local grid connection guidelines and standards that must be complied with depending on the country. This applies especially to following countries such as Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Greece, Eastern Europe, Australia, USA, India, Brazil and South Africa.

For the German market, we test and certify your generation system following the applicable low and medium voltage directive:

  • VDE-AR-N 4105 for own generation systems on the low-voltage grid, incl. DIN VDE V 0124-100
  • VDE-AR-N 4110 Technical rules for the connection of customer systems to the medium-voltage grid incl. TR3, TR4, TR8 of the FGW
  • VDE-AR-N 4120 Technical rules for the connection of customer installations to the high-voltage grid incl. TR3, TR4, TR8 of the FGW
  • VDE-AR-N 4130 Technical rules for the connection of customer installations to the extra high-voltage grid incl. TR3, TR4, TR8 of the FGW

Compliance with grid code guidelines (Grid Code Compliance, GCC)

There are also many standards and guidelines worldwide for the use of decentralized own generation units and plants.

Following the grid connection guidelines of the various grid operators and associations, the conformity of these guidelines is confirmed to ensure a smooth grid connection of the plants. The GCC certification guarantees that grid connection negotiations are simplified to a considerable extent. We will be happy to support you and carry out tests in our laboratory in Kaufbeuren or directly at the manufacturer's premises.

EZA certification / Plant certification (according to VDE-AR-N 4110)

According to VDE-AR-N 4110, we issue plant certificates type B (simplified plant certificate) for all types of decentralized generation units. The FGW-TR8 guideline is also applied as a certification program, which confirms compliance with the VDE-AR-N 4110 rules for own generation systems on the medium-voltage grid. The certification of the electrical properties of decentralized generation units ensures safe operation of the power grids with a constantly increasing share of renewable and decentralized energy generation.

EZE certification/Unit certification (according to VDE-AR-N 4105, VDE-AR-N 4110 and VDE-AR-N 4120, …)

Our unit certification according to FGW TR8 covers all types of decentralized generation units. In addition to the proof of conformity based on the type test according to FGW TR3, the unit model is also validated according to FGW TR4. This certification program serves to confirm compliance with the VDE-AR-N 4110 and VDE-AR-N 4120 rules for own generation units on the medium-voltage grid and high-voltage grid. The certification of the electrical properties of decentralized generation units and systems ensures that your product conforms to the grid connection rules and does not place an unacceptable load on the public power grid.
