The above-ground refueling systems are intended for the storage under atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature of flammable and non-flammable liquids, as well as chemicals, which in most cases can cause harm to water and soil.
This Evaluation Guideline meets the increasing demand of certified chemical installations according to BRL SIKB 7800/BRL-K903. For this reason, this directive was expanded in 2018 with requirements for the use of anti-siphoning devices in the chemical industry. For this it was necessary to adjust the requirements with regard to material use and resistance of the material to the stored product.
For whom?
Evaluation Guideline BRL-K916/03 is of added value for suppliers and producers of anti-siphoning devices, tank owners, tank installation companies and producers of non-stationary storage and delivery installations.
When is it necessary?
Evaluation Guideline BRL-K916/03 Anti-siphoning devices for tank installations applies to anti-siphoning devices used in all installations where siphoning in, for example, the suction line is possible and the stored liquid is harmful to water and soil. Anti-siphoning devices are installed on stationary tanks by an installation company that is certified in accordance with Evaluation Guideline BRL SIKB 7800/BRL-K903.
Non-stationary storage and delivery installations in accordance with BRL-K744 must be equipped with a certified anti-siphoning device. From 2010 this is applied on every certified non-stationary storage and delivery installation.
