Proof of competence
Personnel certification is a continuous quality measurement of an invidual's professional competence. A personnel certificate is based on the requirements of a Certification Scheme (also called standard or assessment guideline). This describes the requirements for the (future) certificate holder and relevant parties, for example that the certificate holder follows continuing education or takes another exam within a certain period of time.
In addition to the fact that specific personnel certification may be required for certain occupations, there are many advantages for the certified professional. Proof of competence, a greater recognition on the market, a potential improvement in their professional career and skills certified by an independent certification agency.
