Kiwa in Rostock now accredited WRAS laboratory for BS6920 materials testing

Kiwa's Hygienic Lab of Excellence (HLoE) in Rostock, Germany, is now an approved laboratory for WRAS, the Water Regulations Approval Scheme for hygienic testing in accordance with the British Standard BS 6920.

The Rostock team had already been preparing for a year, first for accreditation by German accreditation institution DAkkS and in parallel for recognition by WRAS. Already at the beginning of 2022, accreditation was successfully obtained. During an interlaboratory test last December, the colleagues proved that WRAS specifications could also be met. The result: official recognition on December 22, 2022.

About WRAS

The WRAS approval is an independent procedure to demonstrate compliance of plumbing fixtures and materials in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. This assesses sanitary and plumbing products, components and materials that come into contact with drinking water to verify their compliance with specified regulatory requirements. Most importantly, the products are tested for their hygienic properties.

Kiwa is proud to support the provision of clean drinking water in the UK, now and in the future, through our lab in Rostock.
